Charity Donations

We can also assist you in supporting your chosen charities. Should you wish for donations to be made either in place of, or in addition to floral tributes, we are happy to collect and pass these on, on your behalf (excluding Direct) Below are just a few of the supported charities. Donations are also often made to local doctor’s surgery patient funds and nursing homes.

Why don’t we do online donations

We are often asked why we don’t use an online donation system. The answer is very simple. Whilst there are many donations hosts available, they take a percentage of your donation as a fee. We do not believe that this is morally correct. By accepting cash and cheques we can guarantee that 100% of your donation will go to the charity.

How to make a donation

You can send us donations in the post on the day of the service (either handed to the funeral director at the crematorium, or placed in the donation box in the church). If you provide us with an address we will always acknowledge your donation in writing. Cheques should be made payable to the charity to benefit. Please remember to include the name of the deceased with your donation if send by post. We accept donations up to approximately 4 weeks after the funeral service where upon we will send the money to the charity and write to the family with a list of donors.

If you would like to Gift Aid your donation so that the charity can claim an extra 25p for every £1 you donate, at no extra cost to you, please send a covering letter (including your address) with your donation, asking the charity to reclaim the Gift Aid on your behalf. Usual restrictions apply. You can download the Gift Aid Declaration form here.
